Welcome to Schererville

A green, peaceful suburb Schererville is a suburban community located in Lake County, Indiana. It’s right near the Illinois/Indiana state line and is thought to be a crossroads of sorts. Several major interstates converge in this area, making it an accessible stopover from many nearby areas. There’s a deep history behind the town’s “crossroads” reputation. Before Schereville was a town, it was an intersection of Native American trails. Today, it’s best known for its excellent schools, fun eateries and shops, and beautiful parks. The median home price in Schererville is just under $300K. Homes in this area tend to be relatively modern, single-family properties. Classic brick exteriors complement the new interiors, paying homage to Schererville’s past and present.

The parks are some of the most beautiful and expansive areas, and the town is less than an hour from Chicago, so residents enjoy city access without the constant background noise. Schererville is ideal for families. Its excellent schools are a huge selling point, as are its community spaces. Parents who work in the city have a doable commute and don’t have to feel trapped in a far-off, rural community. Kids also benefit from the green spaces and ample community opportunities.

Dining, Shopping, & Entertainment

Schererville has everything a small community needs. From major retailers to beloved restaurants, it’s a place where you don’t have to travel far to find exactly what you need. The best places to shop in Schererville are at the Shops on Main, a walkable strip of major retailers. Shop for dinner at Whole Foods and then stop into Marshall’s for some retail therapy. There are also a few restaurants for a mid-shop snack. Lincoln Ridge Plaza also offers outdoor shops and restaurants and has office spots for many local businesses.
